Vintage Surf competition
If we are lucky enough to have surf on the day, we will run a vintage surf competition with each entrant using vintage boards very kindly loaned for the event by Darren Veal from his fabulous collection. Prizes include vouchers supplied by Mark Southgate at East Coast Surf and other prizes supplied by our generous sponsors. There will be categories for Men, Women, and Groms. In the event of no surf a paddle race competition on the vintage boards will be held instead so whatever happens there will be some great fun to be had in the water. Entrants will be required to bring their own leash, leash tether and wax for the supplied boards and they must be treated with care and respect at all times as all the boards are part of Darren’s collection.
The Vintage Board Collection
Darren Veal, will be showing part of his huge collection of vintage surfboards, including some of the first boards made locally on the East coast. Anyone who has a vintage board or board of interested is welcome to bring them along for others to see.

Once again we have to thank Rob Brownsell for supplying electrical power with out which the event could not function.
The event is heavily dependant on the goodwill of the local area and is 'environmental' in ethos. So please, bring your own reusable mugs and keep the place clean and tidy, please feel free to include a 2 minute beach clean during your visit.
All monies raised at this years event will go to this years chosen charity The Sandra Chapman Centre at the James Paget Hospital who provide incredible treatment, care and support to cancer patients.
Start time for the event is 10am please arrive a little earlier if your planning to enter the competition.
We will start with a few words at the memorial first to remember those no longer with us and also to present last years chosen charity ’Feedback Mental Health’ with the monies generously raised by you all from last years event.
We look forward to seeing you all once again at what has become such a fantastic annual gathering, a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and also make new ones.
