As you know the situation in Italy is tough and the news has a way of presenting things in its own way without allowing you to know how the situation truly is at the moment. We are under lockdown in our homes for at least the next 20 days. This is a message for all of you abroad… BE CAREFUL! Don’t shake hands, avoid crowded places, as prevention is the only key to escape what we are forced to live at this moment. This is a global problem, we as a nation made a giant error at the start of the epidemic, which became a pandemic. Do not make the same mistake, nature will thank us for a stop. I’m using all the best session I’ve had this winter in my beautiful country ITALY. Hope you enjoy the video and my message. The O'Riginals - Travis Potter | O'Neill
Many dream about leaving the nine-to-five grind to chase barrels around the world, but few actually get out there and do it. For underground tube hound Travis Potter, his life has revolved around spending as much time off the grid (and under the lip) as possible. His infatuation with Indonesia's pristine caverns grew over the years, as did the length of Potter's excursions and the risk. Our latest installment of, "The O'Riginals", tells a truly unique and raw story of one of surfing's most notable tube riders. Enjoy.
Weird Waves Season 2: Glacier Surfing (Alaska) | Surf | VANS
The Weird Waves Crew wanted to start off season 2 with a bang. They may have taken the idea a little too literally by traveling to Alaska to potentially ride a wave made from falling ice, which makes a deafening crack with each piece of glacier that breaks off to form a wave... no biggie. In this episode they also check out what the locals on the Turnagain Arm are calling, ‘America’s longest wave.’ Saddle up, partners! Season Two of Weird Waves is coming in hot! Well… cold, actually. FLOW STATE | Russell Bierke
‘Bezerke’, Russell’s last major edit in 2016, signified his second rising after taking the crown at Cape Fear and showcasing his intent on riding whatever mass of ocean came his way. Fast forward 3 years, Russ has been throwing himself into some overwhelmingly big caverns. Not only riding them, but confidently exposing unseen technical lines and approaches to waves of consequence. Calls of the greatest wave ever paddled into at Shipsterns have been aired, but lets not forget this is surfing. How anyone perceives a ride may be different to the next person. And to be frank, who gives a rats backside. It’s a peak moment in time for a peak individual. Arriving at the right place, right time and simply, not choking. Flow State will take you an audio visual journey, as Russ pushes his own boundaries. Along the way, he gives us insight, into what makes him tick and how the hell his feet stay glued to his board in the most critical of situations. Surfer: Torren Martyn Film Maker: Perry Gershkow Surf Boards: Simon Jones: Morning of the earth Produced by: needessentials Music: Gibson Kente - Saduva Thrupence - How to be invisible Midlife - How long does it take Sandy's Band - I and I Torren Martyn describes how this film came about. "The little mission down south to warm water came around as a bit of a surprise to me too, I’d originally planned to just spend a week or two with my girlfriend Aiyana in California and pictured surfing knee to waist high Malibu at best. One idea led to another as most good times do and before we really knew it Aiyana and I were rolling south of where we were currently camped out driving in awe through these beautiful snow capped mountains in the Eastern Sierras on a pretty straight mission south to a serious contrast of scenes, we were pretty excited! A good mate Perry Gershkow was able to juggle a few commitments around up in his neck of the woods of SF and before we really had too much time to think we kind of just woke up the next day deep in central America, it was a classic little scenario. I was travelling with two boards, a 7’2 and a 6’10. It’s so rare that I break a board, maybe one or two a year? anyhow I managed to break them both in the first couple of days.I guess I was rattled and disheartened when the first broke and then when the second went, I was kind of just baffled like haha really? luckily the local guys there have probably stitched together more boards than anyone anywhere else in the world so it was a pretty efficient little turn around, I was so grateful for that. Thankfully my mate Luke lent me his little 5’7 and a 4’11 for a little wiggle in between. The waves we had down there were absolutely incredible, sort of mind boggling at times. It’s humbling the energy in the ocean and the way the sand and currents dictated where and what waves we surfed. They were there one day and gone the next. I think that was the beauty of it too, we didn’t really have any expectations or too much of a plan, things just fell in to place and I wouldn’t change a thing. For me it was one of those spontaneous experiences made up of the combination of good people, the land, weather and a little luck on our side that are a friendly little reminder of just how lucky we all are to have this to share.

The Sea Runner
The sea runner. Me and Albins first project together. We are both pretty stoked about singelfin logging. It all started when I was thinking about to invite him here to do a short logging video. And then the next day he actually contacted me and told me that if I wanted to do some video project he was interested. Then we tried to get jobs and life to fit in with the swell. And after a while we got two days of swell and did some logging and shoot the video. The goal is to do some more fun projects together. Hope you enjoy the video! Matungou - We wanted to create a movie, that really reflected the 4th brand and our team riders in an honest way, we didn't want to try and be something we aren't, our brief was pretty simple really just to be ourselves and document what happened. As a group of surfers the 4th team have such varied personalities and styles we wanted to capture that along side their high performance surfing. We wanted to capture what makes "us" as a team, we are not sure what it even is but hopefully people will get it and see how much fun this crew had together in a different environment, how they stood out as individuals, in an amazing setting with really fun waves. The result, captured by various angles sewn together with an eclectic soundtrack from punk to swing and anything in between is "us." We hope you like it. The Inspiring Story of Dusty Payne's Return to Surfing | Relentless: A SURFER Magazine Profile Film
Dusty Payne has been through it all, from nailing closing sections in the most progressive surf films of his generation and competing at the highest levels on the World Tour, to laying in a hospital bed with metal plates in his head and a jaw wired shut after a horrific wipeout at Backdoor. But even at his lowest points, Payne's passion for surfing has always been the fuel to get him through the darkest hours and back into the light. In "Relentless," we followed Payne before his near-fatal wipeout as he competed and freesurfed his way through Portugal and scored all-time sessions with friends back home in Hawaii. We also captured the wave that nearly spelled the end for Payne and the months-long battle he fought to return to the water. What we learned was something that those closest to Payne already knew, which was that no matter how dire the situation, you can never count Payne out. This is his story. This is "Relentless."
